Things have been crazy the past few weeks. And by crazy, I mean AWESOME! After being with Mashable for 14 months, it was definitely time for a change. I’m very thankful for my time there as I learned a lot about things to do and things NOT to do as well as had an opportunity to plan events like Mashable Connect at Walt Disney World and host the biggest event at SXSW. But that’s all in the past.
So what’s next for me?
I took a few weeks to think about what it is that I want to do. As word got out that I was ‘available for hire,’ I had multiple companies contacting me about work. I took a very selective approach and was honest about my thoughts with those companies. While I wondered if I was passing up what could have been very close to my ideal job at a dream company, deep down I knew what I needed to do and that was to venture out on my own.
That’s right, I’m doing my own thing and am amazed at the conversations and potential clients already in the works, not to mention the companies I’ve already signed on with for event work:
If you know me well, you know that I have some AMAZING things in the works that I can’t tell you about…yet. I will let you know that I’m super excited about the people I’m working with who are all people I admire as they are leaders in their industries.
And yes, I’m lining up new clients so definitely reach out if you’re interested in working with me.
Oh, and stay tuned for a BIG…I’m talking HUGE announcement in the next few weeks. One that’s sure to knock your socks off. </teaser>
Karen, I am so proud of you! It’s amazing to see how far you’ve come professionally since we met in the halls of Blackhawk (if that’s where we met, it just sounds good. Actually, I remember. You invited me to Access in the gym). I can’t wait to read what’s next for you. Keep blogging so I can keep up. Please? Pretty please?
Thanks Laura! I miss you bunches and love that we can keep up with each other ‘virtually’. I even had a chance the other day to read through some of your posts on your blog. My GoogleReader is out of CONTROL!
I plan and hope to blog more and am trying to make it part of my regular routine as I start to establish new things that I miss doing. š
Karen, every since we met three years ago, you’ve continued to impress me. I am happy you have a new career and direction. Many successes in the new role, we have to connect soon!
Cala
Thanks lady! I still remember our brunch meeting many moons ago. Super impressed with what you’re cooking up too. I’ll be in L.A. end of the month. You around? Would love to meet up!
Karen you never cease to amaze me with the things you are capable. I am excited to hear about the path you are carving out and the adventures that the journey takes you on. When you come back to LA, I would love to hear more about every little last thing in your world. Cheers and all grand things.

Thanks Jennifer. I amaze myself most of the time and love what’s going on. It blows my mind that people would PAY me to do something I love. š Hope all is well with you!!
